- The Empty Closet is New York State's longest continually published LGBTQ newspaper. It was founded in January 1971 at the University of Rochester by a student group called the Gay Liberation Front and is now published by the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley. The GAGV is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocate, educate and celebrate the lives of LGBTQ people, allies and their families. A list of distribution locations is available here.
